Weekly Update

This Friday we look forward to a non-uniform day.  Please bring a cash donation to help raise extra funds for the FONS.

Over the weekend it has been the Big Bird Watch.  A look on the RSPB website puts House Sparrows in top spot closely followed by Blue Tits.  I wonder what birds we’ll see at school this coming week...

It’s been encouraging to see such lovely reading and writing in Willow class this week with pupils doing a great job sequencing stories.  Also (see pictured) at making sandwiches for the Queen from Sing a Song a Six Pence!  In Birch Class, pupils started work on fieldwork booklets exploring satellite images of the school!  Geographers in Hazel Class have also been exploring local landmarks as they set out to explore facts and figures about the River Parrett.  Meanwhile, our 5 & 6 pupils in Rowan class have explored the initial relationship between Spain, Portugal and Africa in the 15th century.

Next week sees the return of cross country (for Years 2-6) with an event at Yeovil Showground on 7th February.  We hope to see as many of you there as possible to help the team do well. Have a lovely week.  Mr Caswell
