Weekly update

Our little Willows have been exploring maps and thinking about the place where we live. In Birch class, children have been learning about significant individuals as part of their Movers and Shakers project; Rosa Parks, William Wilberforce and Emmeline Pankhurst to name but a few and they have placed them in chronological order.  Hazel class have been exploring the importance of the end of the Stone Age and our oldest children in Rowan Class have been learning about lasers and light speed in Science.

I am very much looking forward to welcoming you to our coffee morning this Wednesday at 9am at the School – please do come along, have a chat – there will be biscuits!   I also hope to celebrate the FONS’ generous contribution to the furniture in Willow Class with an official opening!

On Wednesday, we have cross-country at Yeovil Rugby Club. As always, please note that parents are responsible for their children at cross-country.

Looking ahead, we have our Harvest Service on Wednesday 4th October at 2pm in the Church where we ask for a contribution to the Lord’s Larder – dried, tinned foods for example would be best. We then have our Phonics Information Session on Monday 9th October from 3:30-4:00pm for Reception and Year 1 parents in the School Hall.

Last but not least, please remember to encourage your child to have a go and enter our Photo Contest!  We are looking for photos that capture one of our school’s values, evokes emotion in a powerful and unique way – please see entry poster attached.
