As a parent or carer you play a key role in helping your child to stay safe online.  You don’t need to be an expert on the internet to help keep your child stay safe. The advice and resources on the UK Safer Internet Centre website can support you as you support your child to use the internet safely, responsibility and positively. Should you have concerns about this, please do not hesitate to speak with a member of staff.

For the four Reception Seedlings, The Tiger Who Came to Tea is proving popular and a useful prompt for pupils’ emergent writing.  Year 1 and 2 pupils have been learning about the parts of plants as well as descriptive writing all about school life.  Meanwhile, Oak Class have been reading the Children of the Benin Kingdom by Dinah Orji as an inspiration for writing as they learn about this ancient kingdom which was located on the West Coast of Africa from AD900 – 1897.  Another highlight for me has been hearing the sound of glockenspiels as our juniors get to grips of learning a tuned percussion instrument with Mr Mitchell.

A polite reminder that the school day starts promptly at 8.55am. Thank you for your punctuality which enables children to line up ready to enter the school together for the start of the day.

Finally, parents of Acorn Class pupils are welcome to attend the open classroom this Thursday from 2.30pm to help with sewing!  Please let us know if you can attend.

Have a successful week.

Mr Caswell
