Weekly Update

I would like to begin by wishing you all a safe, happy and successful 2024.  The coming months promise much for West Chinnock pupils.  As we throw ourselves back into school life and embrace our vision of “living life in all its fullness”, we can expect excellent progress and great achievements. We have a busy half term ahead and a number of key events in our school calendar fast approaching.

Welcome back to Mrs Donovan-Lowe who will be teaching in Oak Class on Monday to Thursday with Mrs O’Grady teaching on Fridays. Mr Mitchel will teach both classes music on Wednesday afternoons.  Mrs Tripp returns to Acorn Class this half-term until Mrs Callaghan returns.

Over the next six weeks, we focus on our school value Aspiration; aiming high and challenging ourselves, and others, to achieve excellence.

This week, teachers will send information about new Curriculum Projects for the coming term with exciting themes from ‘Victorian school days’ to ‘Maafa’.

On 1st February 2024, we look forward to joining the Bath and Wells Trust.  A huge thank you to everyone involved in ensuring the smooth transition and working alongside the Trust and Local Authority over the past year to secure improvements to our curriculum.  As we approach conversion, I would like to especially recognise our dedicated office staff who have started to implement the changes involved in the day-to-day administration.

In addition to the dates, which are published every week (below), the school calendar is available on the website:

https://www.nortonandwestchinnockschools.co.uk/events/calendar/

Also on the website, we have recently updated polices on Uniform and Attendance to set out the high standards and support in place to be smart and ensure attendance.

Please see the sign-up sheet for clubs which is being sent out as a paper copy today.

As always, thank you for your continued support.   Mr Caswell
