Weekly Update

The highlight of last week was our Harvest festival in the church. A huge well done to the children for their readings, prayers and for singing so confidently. The theme of the service was to celebrate the harvest that comes from trees; from the fruit provided to the life giving oxygen trees produce. Thank you all for the generous gifts which go to the Lord’s Larder food bank charity. In October, we celebrate Black History Month. Our Year 5 and 6 pupils led the assembly this week and gave an interesting presentation on Pelé who won three World Cups. In Oak class, pupils have continued their project on Britain at War learning about the causes of the First World War. They are also becoming more confident with making and mending fabric learning running, whip and blanket stitching skills. Our Year 1 and 2 in Acorn have been getting to grips with different sentence types whereas for our seedlings (Reception), the story Owl Babies has proved a real hit and has led to some very creative role play. Coming up this week is the PFA meeting on Wednesday in the Cat Head and Parent Forum on Friday morning (see attached poster). Next week on 20th October, we are looking forward to the disco in the village hall. A reminder to send entries for the photo contest in by Monday 16th October. Wishing you all a good week. Mr Caswell
